K3LP Rookie Photo Gallery
Since April 15, 1975, I've enjoyed Amateur Radio as a hobby. My first call
sign as a Novice was WN6KTF, then WB6KTF when I upgraded to General then
Advanced, and in December 1997 I passed my Extra Class License while
attending technical school in Phoenix, Arizona and was issued the AA6DC call
sign. I moved from Southern California, Phoenix, Arizona then to
Maryland in 1982. For brief period in 1987-1989, I lived in St. Louis,
Missouri and operated AA6DC/0, then returned to Maryland in December 1989.
I was a member of the Fontana High School (FOHI) radio club,
WB6HJJ, in 1975 and 1976. I grew up on Washington
Drive, Fontana, CA from 1963 thru 1976.
In June 1996, I applied for and was issued K3LP under the FCC's vanity
call sign program.
Here are some
photos and interesting newspaper clips from days gone bye.

Visiting my Mom, Joanne Collingham, in Lucerne Valley, CA April
14-15, 2013 before Visalia DX-Convention. She is 77 years old
and still active in the community.
Presently,
she's active as a Member of the Governing Board of the Lucerne
Valley Unified School District in Lucerne Valley, CA. She
was voted into this position in Nov. 2012.
I learned my Youth Development
and support from my Mom. |
Photo B - Visiting my Mom, Joanne Collingham in Lucerne Valley,
CA April 14-15, 2013 before Visalia DX-Convention. Yes - I love
my Mom very much. She
was the Lions Club Secretary & Treasure in Fontana, CA and was
responsible for organizing and managing the Lions Little League
for 10 years (1966 thru 1977); Four minor and four major teams
with about 15 kids on each team. She was also the President of
the Women's Auxiliary for 10 years (1966 thru 1977) whom worked
and managed the baseball park's snack bar for all games.
After moving to Lucerne Valley
in , my Dad and Mom were very active in church related
activities and participate numerous community responsibilities
until my Dad's (Charles) passing in January 2011.
Mom managed the snack bar for
the Lucerne Valley Cross Roads Little League (District 49) when
they were in financial trouble 2004-2005. At the end of my Mom
and Dads effort, they were able to ensure all the bills were
paid and turned over a surplus of $5,000.00 USD. |
