I want to extend a special thanks to Mort Bardfield,
W1UQ (PJ7UQ, FS5UQ) for his hospitality and allowing me the opportunity
to operate from his Dutch villa in downtown Philipsburg (PJ7UQ) and
French (FS5UQ) hill top property on Pic Paradis. I want to also thank
Benny Owen, K5KV for his QSL Manager support.
Larry (N7DD) and David (K3LP) jointly worked with
Mort (FS5UQ) to plan the tower and antenna installation effort at the
FS5UQ station scheduled for November 2003. David (K3LP) did the site
visit in June 2003 to identify needed materials.
In November, Larry (N7DD), Clint (W3ARS) and David
(K3LP) headed to the FS5UQ station to install the HF antenna and 40-160
wire antennas at the station. At the end of the trip, N7DD operated the
CQWW DX CW 2003 contest as FS5UQ, Single Operator category.
In February 2004, a team of six operators K3LP
(David), N7DD (Larry), W3ARS (Clint), N3KS (Kam), K4VV (Steve) and N8II
(Jeff) returned to the FS5UQ station to operate the ARRL DX CW 2004
contest. The Team placed 2nd World for the High Power (HP) Multi-Two
category.
