J6R DX Contesting

I (K3LP) have had the opportunity to operate from St. Lucia numerous times. Ernest (J69AZ) is my main contact on the island.

My DX trips to St. Lucia where as follows:

  • CQWW DX SSB Oct. 1998 - Single Operator, LP - Un-Assisted, J6/K3LP - 5th Place World
  • J6R CQWW DX SSB Oct. 1999 - Multi-Multi Team, HP, Un-Assisted
  • J6R CQWW DX SSB Oct. 2001 - Multi-Single Team, HP, Un-Assisted

  • ARRL DX CW Feb. 2005 - Single Operator, LP - Un-Assisted, J6R (Operator K3LP)
  • J68LP (K3LP Operator) DX-Pedition February 15-22, 2005

J6R - Multi-Multi Team 1999 - 18th Place World

In October 1999, I lead a multi-multi team to operate the CQWW DX SSB contest. The team included K3LP, K3UG, N3NT, J69AZ and K7KL. The Score was as follows:

Score: 9,260,394, 7,082 QSOs, 129 Zones, 430 Multipliers

J6R - CQWW DX SSB 2001 - 33rd Place World

In October 2001, Ernest (J69AZ) and David (K3LP) operated the CQWW DX SSB Contest, HP (*), Multi-Single, Un-Assisted from Bernards (J69B's) QTH. Score: 5,522,872

(*) We used only one radio, and blew the SB-200 about 8 hrs into the contest, and worked the remaining part of the contest with about 200 watts output power. The antenna was an A4 for 10-40 meters and inverted vee's for 40 and 80 meters, and inverted L for 160 meters.

In September 2001, David (K3LP) operated as J6R during cruise ship stop on the island from J69AZ's QTH.
