Welcome to the St. Lucia Amateur Radio Association - J69SL

HISTORY

The St. Lucia Amateur Radio Association (ARA) was initially founded in October 1996 by Ancletus Ernest (J69AZ), Givan George (J69AC), and David Collingham (J68LP or K3LP). The individuals involved with establishing this association have been participating in working DX and contesting together since 1996.

In February 2005, non-profit formal association by-laws and a bank account were established to ensure continuous growth and enhance the associations ability to attract new members.

MISSION STATEMENT

To continually enhance the development of communication expertise and skills and provide dependable emergency communication services for the island of St. Lucia. Our association will:

  • support the National Telecommunications Regulatory Association (NTRC) by providing support in the licensing process and monitoring on island communications for compliance and professionalism

  • support National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) as requested,

  • provide new operator training and trial examination, and

  • act as the Amateur Radio Ambassador for St. Lucia by providing visitor assistance
